LaTanika (Lala) Wallace is a San Francisco-based producer of music videos, commercials, corporate videos, and narrative films. In 2010 she produced a 60-minute television pilot, A-Town, which went on to win Best Local Film from the Best of the East Bay Express. In 2011 she was Assistant Director for award-winning director Barry Jenkins on the short film Passive. In 2012 she produced artist Mac Mall’s music video Rebel Against All, which was featured at the Oakland International Film Festival April 2012.
As a child Lala split her days between her grandfather’s barbershop and her grandmother’s job at 20th Century Fox; hence her passion for storytelling & films. Lala has received her Bachelor of Science in Digital Filmmaking and Video Production at The Art Institute of California – San Francisco where she wrote, directed and produced her senior thesis film, Axiom, a short experimental film that follows Amie, a young college grad, as she embarks on an unexpected journey in the wake of her death to discover the purpose of life.
